Prayer requests can be made through our church office by email or by calling (815) 469-2220 or after office hours, you may leave your prayer request on the answering machine by pressing 1 (one) for the Pastor's confidential line. When you call, let the Pastor know if you want the Prayer Chain activated. Praying for one another is an important ministry that Christians provide for the world. In these days of national unrest and violence it is more important than ever to recognize the power of prayer and use it.

There is no concern too small of too large for God. One of the mistakes people make regularly is to believe that God would not want to know their cares. God already knows our cares and when we pray we recognize God's power which helps with even the smallest of difficulties. Praying joys, as well as concerns, is important - so share yours with God, too! When we share our joy with God, it is doubled. God wants to be part of each and every part of our lives, so share your life with God regularly. Pray daily for yourself, that you might be emptied and able to pray more clearly and cleanly for another.

Praying on behalf of others has a two fold effect: first, praying connects us to God through the Holy Spirit and that time we spend praying is healing for us; and two, the person or situations we pray for benefit from God's healing as well. Michael J. Fox, in his book Lucky Man, tells about his life with Parkinson's disease. When people told him they would pray for him he thought it was just a saying. Now, having gone through a major life transformation, he can feel the incredible power of those prayers on his behalf! The power of prayer works!

It is said that when we sing, we pray twice. So find an old or new hymn that you know and like and sing it!

"Be not dismayed what e're be tied, God will take care of you.
Beneath His wings of love abide, God will take care of you.
God will take care of you, through every day o're all the way.
He will take care of you, God will take care of you."
Or
Jesus, Jesus, fill us with your love, show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from you.
Knelt at the feet of his friends, silently washing their feet,
Jesus, you acted as servant to them.
Loving puts us on our knees, showing our faith by our deeds,
Serving the neighbors we have from you."
Or
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
